Find and Seek highlights Egyptian and Pirate related products. Prop pirate bunting, flag and treasure chest were from own props library. Red, hieroglyphic banners were reused from a previous display.

Game On Promotion: Dragons Playing Chess

The Merchandising Pack listed some products, with others chosen to fill it out and create the theme: It was a dark and stormy knight. Predominantly dark coloured products were chosen, with several chess sets, and some red and blue to make it pop.

Pink paper cherry blossoms and shapes are worked into the existing, permanent window graphic. Easily removable for after Mother's Day (4 days later).

It's Summer - keep your cool! Window

Sketched design for window.

Free reign was given to come up with any theme and product for the window. Summer, the weather, keeping your cool, keeping busy indoors, enjoying the outdoors all appeared pertinent to customer needs and the stock range available in sufficiency. The colour palette chosen is fresh, crisp, clean and very Summery.



The theme was created entirely in paper; the sun, decorated box risers, water waves, blue crepe streamers, the floor in blue crepe. It cost less than $12 in materials. The white printers' paper background from the previous window was left in place, saving time and money.

Love Mind Games? Valentine's Day Window

The brief for this window required nothing other than the poster to be adhered to the windows. The original sketch, did have the paper hearts decorating the glass. Other than that and the inclusion of 4 instead of just 2 posters - since 4 were delivered instead of just two - this final display is true to the design sketch.

UPDATE 19/02/09:
This window won first prize for best Socrates Valentine's Day window, this year as judged by head office. It won based on creativity, integration of theme and use of products. There are twenty Socrates stores around Australia.

Quirky Christmas Window - Refreshed!

Still in keeping with store image with slightly less bulkiness and more festive flourish. This is closer to Patricia's and the Assistant Manager's original vision for the window. Time and priority constraints made it difficult to achieve on initial installation.


Handmade, green paper, stripe with gold stars completes the look - material supplied by Patricia. Stockings sold by Socrates.

Bulky but Quirky Christmas Window

Overall view

The company standard during the peak Christmas period is to have full, abundantly stocked window displays. A red sheet provides a bright, clean, uncluttered background for this. A string of red lights is tucked into the window frame. A festively adorned spider interupts the line of promotional linked products.

Halloween Window

The oversized basketball at the front was styled to look like a pumpkin using black paper.

Paper skull with skull fabric, detail.
A freehand drawn, skull template was used to make orange paper skulls. They are asymmetrical to give dynamic character and humour. The paper was recycled from the previous window.

After the official promotion for a selected range of products was over, all new product lines were placed in the window for a fresh look.

Carnivale window display featuring; a paper big top, a big top outline created by streamers, two decorated plinths, hand made shelf embellishment, and custom signage.

Mid Year Sale

Heavy use of posters for a highly visible window. Baskets of products grouped by discount. '% OFF' ticketing on each basket and individual items pinned to background.

Indoors Promotion Window

The background is a textured blanket, with a small table cloth and plenty of red for a warm and cosy feel. An empty clock case displays small puzzles. A chair and small table give a homely touch to the display. A string of lights is woven and wrapped through and around the chair for an eye-catching and unusual feature.
